If you are curious about how to find and identify mushrooms in the Anchorage area, join us for a walk with mycologist Christin Swearingen. We will collect, identify, and learn about mushrooms. Bring a basket if you have one and any mushrooms from your backyard you want to know more about.

Space is limited and registration is required. A $5 cancellation fee applies to all cancellations; no refunds given to cancellations requested within 2 business day of the workshop. We will be walking on forest trails and uneven ground for approximately 30 minutes. The class takes place rain or shine; please prepare accordingly.

Upcoming farm tour! Join Farm Manager Aimee Young for a free walking tour of the Matanuska Experiment Farm and Extension Center on Thursday, Sept. 17, at noon. This one-hour outdoor tour will highlight current and upcoming research at the farm. If you&/ces/districts/anchorage/39;ve ever been curious about the Matanuska Experiment Farm, come out and learn all about it!

Dress for the weather and be prepared for uneven and muddy terrain.

Location: Matanuska Experiment Farm and Extension Center, 1509 S. Georgeson Drive, Palmer. Meet in the lobby of Kerttula Hall.
