Outstanding Student of the Year

Every year the College of Liberal Arts asks each department to select their outstanding student(s) for that year- students who possess the passion and creativity for new discoveries and scholarship, students who demonstrate independence of thought and action in the pursuit of knowledge, and students who exemplify excellence.

B.A. in history, minor in Russian

"As a history major, my professors always say that we are essentially trying to learn how to build arguments with evidence... If you wanted to be a lawyer, if you wanted to be a good public speaker ... it's more about being able to make arguments and support them with factual evidence. I think that that's a really good skill to have, no matter what field you want to go into, and no matter what you're looking to do after graduation."
